Sequoia Steps Up to the Plate to Stop Diabetes
For our 4th year, Sequoia Management participated in and raised funds for the American Diabetes Association's signature fundraising walk, Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. On Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Woodbridge, Virginia, Sequoia was awarded 2nd Place as a Corporate Fundraising Team for raising $8,044 which will help make a difference in the lives of 25.8 million Americans living with diabetes. Congratulations also to Jen Darwin, one of our Senior Community Managers, for receiving the Top Individual Fundraiser Award for raising $5,275. Thank you all for donating to this very important cause.
On October 16, 2010, Sequoia Management joined the American Diabetes Association in their "Walk For A
Cure" in Prince William County. This was our 3rd year in participating with this worthy cause. We surpassed our fundraising goal and were recognized as the "Largest Corporate Contributor." Our own Jen Darwin and Craig Courtney served as Emcees for the event this year. Thank you to all who supported us.

Chet Hahne, President of Sequoia Management, serves as an officer on the Virginia Association of Community Managers. Sequoia Management is a founding member of the association which was originally formed in 2005. Each member commits to uphold the Professional Manager Code of Ethics and Standard outlined by the Community Associations Institute (CAI).
Each Founding Member company holds the Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) accreditation from Community Associations Institute. Employees of our Founding Members have contributed thousands of hours volunteering time to CAI, serving on the National Board of Trustees, as National President, Chapter President, instructors for the Professional Management Development Program, authors for many publications on community association management and providing education to homeowners and Community Association Volunteers. Additionally, the association provides expert testimony to elected and non-elected local, state and national government officials on issues affecting the management of common interest communities.
Sequoia Managment is a proud sponsor to the Bridlewave Swim Team. The purpose of the swim team is to develop a love of the sport, to advance swimming skills, teamwork and principles of good sportsmanship.
The Bridlewaves participate in the Prince William Swim League (PWSL), which is a summer swim league. The league and team encourage children to participate regardless of their skill level.
On Mother's Day 2008, Sequoia Management supported Angel Kisses 5K Run/2K Run which raised over $30,000 that benefitted the Northern Virginia Community Foundation - Jeffrey Virostek Fund for assisting families who are fighting cancer. This race was created in honor of a special little boy, Jeffrey Virostek, who lost his brave battle with leukemia on September 25, 2003, at the age of 4 1/2. Angel Kisses is a fund-raising 5K/2K Race to benefit the Jeffrey Virostek Fund, a component fund of the Northern Virginia Community Foundation.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Sequoia Management was excited to be a outstanding supporter for the Toys for Tots Campaign.

Sequoia Management enjoyed being a sponsor of the 17th Annual Virginia Run Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot raised nearly $50,000 that will be of immediate benefit to Life with Cancer. The community of Virginia Run expresses its sincere appreciation for your support to this year's event, and more importantly, to Life with Cancer.
The Green Trails Community was awarded the 2005 Community Association of the Year Award by the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Association Institute for the demonstration of excellence in all facets of Community Association Operation. Green Trails Homeowners Association was also selected as the First Runner-Up in the Community Associations D.C. Chapter Competition. Congratulations Green Trails Homeowners Association for a job well-done!
